Task Statuses and Workflows
2.5 Task Statuses and Workflows
Task statuses in ACTIONBRIDGE represent where a task stands in your workflow — from start to finish. Whether you follow a simple “To Do / In Progress / Done” model or a more detailed custom flow, statuses help the entire team stay aligned and organized.
Default Statuses
- To Do: Task has been created but not started.
- In Progress: Task is actively being worked on.
- Done: Task is completed and verified.
- Blocked: Task is on hold and cannot proceed.
- Review: Task needs approval or peer check before closing.
Custom Workflows
- Admins can configure custom status labels and flows based on your organization’s process.
- Each status can be color-coded and ordered to reflect your actual work stages.
- Workflows can differ per team or project, enabling flexibility across departments.
Changing Task Status
- To update a task's status, open the task detail panel and select a new status from the dropdown.
- As with other field updates, you’ll be prompted to enter a reason for the change.
- The update is logged with timestamp and user identity for transparency.
Workflow Best Practices
- Keep your workflow simple and meaningful — only add statuses that your team will use consistently.
- Review status usage regularly to avoid clutter and confusion.
- Use views (e.g., board view) to group tasks by status and visualize progress easily.
With structured task statuses and customizable workflows, ACTIONBRIDGE adapts to your process — not the other way around.
